These health disparities are often rooted in social and economic inequities, and the stressors associated with these challenges further increase the need for accessible mental health resources and support.
As an organization of predominantly Black women, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is uniquely positioned to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of its members and the broader community. The Lufkin Area Alumnae Chapter (LAAC) is committed to addressing these disparities through education, outreach, and the provision of valuable resources.

The Lufkin Area Alumnae Chapter (LAAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., in partnership with the Upsilon Zeta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the Gamma Chi Chi Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, the Lufkin Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc., and the Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., proudly hosts Table Talk each October in observance of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
